FAQ's

Some commonly asked wedding ceremony questions…

How far in advance should we book?

Wedding planning can extend anytime from 6 weeks to 3 years. Just like your desired venue, securing your preferred celebrant requires advance planning.

My tip: As soon as you book in your venue, book your celebrant and photographer.

Wedding season really kicks off early August and goes through until the end of April/early May. If you are planning to get married during these times, I would suggest getting everything planned and booked early.

How long does a wedding ceremony go for?

Oh wow! It's like asking "how long is a piece of string?" The answer is that is entirely up to you.

What is important to you? What do you wish to incorporate?

A wedding ceremony is around 20-30 minutes, which is a perfect balance of meaning and not going over the top.

My tip: Slow down and take your time! There's no prize for finishing early.

But there’s no point including words in a ceremony to make it longer if they’ve got no meaning. Half an hour or so is a good amount of time to include all the legal words and all the words you love.

What’s the earliest date we can get married?

One month before your chosen wedding date. You must complete the Notice of Intent to Marry form detailing your wedding date and give it to me.

Will you travel anywhere?

Of course I will. I've been blessed to be able to do my job in locations all over this wonderful country.

What venues do you celebrate weddings?

  • Garden, courtyard and chapel weddings

  • Paddle Steamer Weddings on the Murray River

  • Back Yard Weddings

  • Winery Weddings

  • City Weddings

  • Country Weddings

  • Beach Weddings

  • Restaurant and Pub Weddings

Do we have to have readings?

Not at all! And if you do have a wedding reading, it can be whatever has a special meaning for you.

It’s important to choose the words that suits you. There may be a quote, a poem, or a song lyric that resonates and means something.

Some couples ask someone special to choose a reading for them.

Will you take care of all the wedding paperwork?

It's all part of the service! We complete the Notice of Intent to Marry together well in advance of your wedding when we meet for the second time. I'll also send off all of the paperwork to the correct authorities to ensure that your marriage is legit.

Should we have a wedding rehearsal?

Some people say you don't have to have one but I would highly suggest it for a number of reasons.
A wedding rehearsal does not entail your ceremony to be “word perfect” but rather we discuss the space and location for your ceremony. If your ceremony venue does not have a designated space it’s really important to decide on the best position for your ceremony.
Things to consider include the ground underfoot, the aspect, number of guests and the sun’s position at the time. We discuss where you would like to stand, where your bridal party stand, where your celebrant stand? It’s so important for you to be happy with all these elements so everyone knows what to expect on the day.

What makes a great wedding ceremony anyway?

More than anything, the thing that contributes to a great wedding ceremony is you!

You and your partner’s story, personality and words about your relationship. Then add people who you love and you’ve got the recipe for a fabulous wedding ceremony.

The most important thing about your wedding ceremony? You need to be comfortable and happy with every part of it.

Do you do any wedding planning?

I am not a wedding planner or co-ordinator.

I can put you in touch with some incredible local suppliers if you need me to.

What would happen if I was to get sick?

In the event that I cannot physically be there, I have a group of certified celebrants who I can call to perform your ceremony.  I would certainly give you due notice if this circumstance arises.

How much is this going to cost?

I tailor each wedding for each couple and fees vary based on personally created content, details within the service and travel times.
My basic "Less Talking, Let's Party" option is $500.00. Prices go up from there depending on what your requirements are.
Give me a call or send me an email and we can chat further.
